What is the microbiome?

Scientific studies have uncovered a fascinating ecosystem in each of us called the microbiome which accounts for 90% of the cells that create you, so only 10% of you is human!

The microbiome is a complex network of bacteria, fungi, and microflora that lives primarily in the gut and impacts nearly every system in the body. It is now being referred to as the forgotten vital organ and the second brain, and Hippocrates claimed over 2000 years ago that all disease begins in the gut!

Science continues to show that gut dysbiosis  is implicated in many health issues, some being the deepest chronic health issues like autoimmune diseases, MS, obesity, diabetes, asthma, autism, arthritis, rheumatism, cancer, and some of the most striking research is on links between the microbiome and our brain – our whole mental and emotional well-being is determined by our microbiome. Did you know that at least 70% of your immune system is in your gut, and around 95% of serotonin is produced in your gut!

The products produced for this programme have been designed  and formulated by scientists and doctors to specifically target the gut microbiome. In the Hughes centre of research they use advanced equipment to ensure that their potent and raw food supplements do the job they are designed to do and all nutrients get to where they need to go.

Signs that might show that your gut microbiome is out of balance include:

• Upset stomach

• Stomach disturbances like gas,            bloating, constipation, diarrhea,

   and heartburn

• A high-sugar diet

• Unintentional weight changes, and

   difficulty maintaining ideal weight

• Sleep disturbances, and/or constant

   fatigue

• Skin irritation

• Autoimmune conditions

• Food intolerances

• Chronic inflammation and pain

• Poor immune system

• Stress and anxiety

• Allergies

• Brain fog/migraines

• Blood sugar problems

• High blood pressure

What affects our gut microbiome, and causes an imbalance?

• Toxic environments

• Nutrients stripped from food, due to over-farming and the    use of pesticides, etc

• Stressful and sedentary lifestyles

• Medication – especially antibiotics

• Poor diet – processed food, sugar, alcohol, etc

Combined with a strategic healthy diet, the Purify Gut Reset Programme is one way to start your journey to improved and optimum health.

The programme consists of:

• All the supplements you need to complete the 21-day programme.

• Support throughout the program and after for up to 3 months if required

• A guide book with recipe ideas

• Support via a whatsapp group where other people are currently going through the program, and access to a recipe idea page on Facebook.

I work with clients on an individual basis, so depending on a client's condition and needs, some people need to build up their constitution to do the programme and also continue with work after. Whether this is just following the nutritional plan of the programme, or including a supplement maintenance program alongside, is unique to the person. Between conducting a lifestyle analysis, and the client literally going on their gut feeling, will determine the best path for them.

Why I added this programme to clinic

While I am passionate about Bowen and know it can help a multitude of health issues I have had an interest in gut health for a few years now, and knew it could help in ways that Bowen can't. This particular programme crossed my path, as many do over the years, when asking for advice in a Bowen forum about how I could further support a client beyond Bowen. It grabbed my attention, and the more I researched the more I knew that I needed to add this to clinic. I didn't do the programme myself immediately because I wasn't ready, so started with another supplemental programme, where I saw incredible results, which I still take for maintenance to support all my bodily systems. However, since doing the programme it has moved me even more towards optimum health! Between focusing on gut health and having my own Bowen and Reiki sessions I have really found what works well to maintain my health and keep fibromyalgia symptoms at bay.

If you would like any more information or have any questions about anything, please do not hesitate to get in touch for a no-obligation chat, or to take advantage of a free Lifestyle analysis, which will indicate which bodily system/s might be in need of a bit of support.
